Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August valued at $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with the company planning to announce complete information in its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested the company planned to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, Paramount retained about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not yet commented on the matter.
