Football Roundup: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Denver Broncos clinched a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late go-ahead field goal to seal the ugly win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Despite registering nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following conceding a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards during the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with just over five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had possession with a chance to drive for a potential victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten passing yards, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," Glenn stated following the game.
